Important Information for Sending Emails to the Office of Student Financial Aid

Please use the online portal www.bafög-digital.de to submit your application and any additional documents, supporting evidence, and statements (alternatively, by mail; if mailing, please submit loose sheets of paper—do not staple them). Do not submit applications via email.

Effective immediately, there is now only one central email address for BAföG matters. If available, please include the grant number (without periods, e.g., 200000015xxxxxx) in the subject line to enable direct assignment to the specific grant case.
In addition, the applicant’s full name must always be included.

You may submit legal declarations, such as objections, via email only if you have signed the document and scanned it as a PDF.

We do not respond to inquiries regarding the processing status or receipt of documents via email. Under“Application Processing Status,” we provide weekly updates on which receipt dates we are currently processing.

All submission channels (BAföG digital, mail, email) are processed in the order they are received. Submitting the same documents multiple times through different channels significantly extends processing times.
