You submit the application via BAföG Digital instead of by post. Please do not submit applications by e-mail!
You only use one delivery channel (BAföG Digital, post) for applications and supporting documents.
You refrain from inquiries that only concern the processing status / receipt of documents. Under"Application processing status", we provide weekly updates on the date on which we are currently processing yourapplication.
This way you can help to speed up the BAföG application process even more!
For digital applications
Upload applications and supporting documents via BAföG Digital! Applications received by e-mail must be processed in a time-consuming specialist procedure!
Upload the supporting documents individually (no different contents in one document) and as a PDF. Ensure completeness and legibility!
Meaningful document names (e.g. tax assessment notice for parents 2023) also help!
For analog applications
Useindividual sheets. Do not staple the documents together!
UseDIN A4 sheets. Do not use post-its!
When submitting copies, please ensure legibility (not too dark) and completeness (e.g. front and back copied)!
Useful tips
Incoming inquiries, applications and supporting documents are processed according to the date of receipt. This also applies to questions sent by e-mail.
Submit your application for funding abroad at least 4 months before the start of your stay abroad.
Enter your telephone number! This will enable us to contact you quickly if we have any queries.
