No. The requirements specified in paragraph 1 must be met.
Simply fill out the housing application online. For rooms in shared apartments, please refer to section 5, among others.
You can apply for housing at any time and be added to the applicant list. However, you are only entitled to a housing assignment once all the documents required for your housing application have been submitted. It is very important to submit your certificate of enrollment from the University of Bremen, Bremen University of Applied Sciences, HfK Bremen, or Bremerhaven University of Applied Sciences as soon as possible after receiving your admission letter.
For rooms in shared apartments, the residents of the shared apartment have a say in the matter. In such cases, the applicant must obtain the consent of the respective shared apartment. Contact with the shared apartment can be made directly through the website. However, the requirements specified in Section 2 must be met.
The current waiting period is approximately 14 months. It depends, among other things, on the date the application was received and the number of selected housing complexes and types of housing. Since applications and available housing spots change constantly, we unfortunately cannot provide a reliable estimate of when or if a housing spot will be offered. As soon as we are able to offer a suitable housing option, we will automatically notify you by email; please refrain from making inquiries regarding this matter.
No. Allocations are made based on various criteria, which are specified in detail in the allocation guidelines. These include, among other things, the intended degree (e.g., bachelor’s or master’s), the start of studies, and the need for a specific type of housing, such as an accessible apartment or a family apartment. The number of potential housing complexes listed in the application also plays a role, as do other factors.
Anyone who does not accept a housing offer may only apply for a spot in our shared living arrangements. There is no entitlement to be assigned another housing spot. Exceptions apply in cases of study-related absences.
Apartments are assigned based on a list of applicants. If an apartment becomes available, you will automatically be notified by email.
