Our legal mandate is to cater for students at the University of Bremen, Bremen University of Applied Sciences, HfK Bremen and Bremerhaven University of Applied Sciences. They receive lower prices in our canteens and cafeterias. For employees of these universities and external guests of these universities, there are separate price categories at which our services can be used.
There can be various reasons for days with limited availability. A high sickness rate is often responsible for this.
If a food delivery is not made in the morning or a replacement product is delivered for an offer, we will indicate this accordingly on the notices directly at the counter and on the website. The weekly schedules are not exchanged or changed. If an item on offer is completely used up towards the end of the serving time, a replacement will be used.
You can always leave out or take less. You are welcome to have a little more rice, vegetables, sauce and other side dishes on request. Please note, however, that there is no entitlement to this and that this does not apply to main components (e.g. potato pockets, meat, etc.). These are available for an additional charge.
Yes, you can find more information about the children's plate below on the main page of our university catering!
Despite comprehensive guidelines and measures, it cannot be ruled out that the smallest natural deposits (e.g. soil) may be found on food. Pieces of cardboard or plastic cannot be completely ruled out either. If you find something like this in a meal, please contact the colleagues in the canteen immediately so that they can check the batches carefully and give you a replacement meal.
Our offers vary on a daily basis, so no details can be provided at present.
Meat from species-appropriate animal husbandry comes from our regional partners in northern Germany. They attach particular importance to special guidelines that we also follow and are therefore defined as a seal of quality for us under "species-appropriate animal husbandry".
We try to avoid leftover food through demand-oriented production. Any leftovers that were not in the serving area are used for other dishes the following day, provided this is possible from a hygiene point of view. Pasta can be turned into a pasta salad, for example. The university canteen also has a "zero-waste plate", where leftover food is given away at a reduced price at the end of service.
